JACK B. YEATS 1871- 1957.

Brother of William Butler Yeats, Jack B. Yeats became an internationally renowned artist in his own right.
First Irish artist to hold exhibitions at the Tate and National Galleries in London.
Some of his most celebrated paintings reflected the turbulent times of early 20th century Ireland, such as The Liffey SwimBachelor’s Walk andGrief.
He also wrote a number of short poems, prose works and plays during his life such as, SligoSailing SwiftlyThe Charmed LifeApparitionsLa La Noo and in Sand.
In 1945, he received his first formal tribute when 180 of his paintings appeared at the National Loan Exhibition.
His final paintings included Entrance of a Lady with AttendantsOut of the Mountainside and Sleep Sound.
